August 26, 2011 - This is an out standing story about three groups and how they confront each situation and many situations come up. It is a lesson in learning many ideas and skills. I became totally lost and engrossed in the story and regarded each of the characters a personal friend. I felt their pain and joy and learned so much in the art of survival. I highly recommend this book to anyone who realizes it can happen and it can happen here. Bruce Hemming is a great guy and knows his stuff. Need I say more read it you'll love it and make sure to write Bruce and push him to Volume 2. Don

September 4, 2011 - I got your book the other day. I am about halfway through it. It's right on with the information. I thought I was prepared before, but now I realize I need more stuff like antibiotics, and snares. I don't have enough snares. I don't know... how to fortify my house, but at least you can't see it from the road. You have given me much to think about. I thank you for providing much needed information. We all need to read this book. It should be taught in schools as required reading. Please tell Sara I think both of you did an excellent job writing this book.

September 6, 2011 - The emotional highs and lows this book puts you through will stick with you for ever. Its like one of those great stories you just cant forget. The personalities in this book will make you love them and hate them all in the same chapter, something that is rarely done in the literary world. The knowledge and information that I gained by reading this book will help me prepare for the future. The tips and tricks the author shares in this book will be very valuable to myself and my son for ever. Fair warning: You will not be able to put this book down!!!!

September 19, 2011 - First of all, I have to say this novel is absolutely addictive and will have you wanting to read the second volume! Before reading this book, I have to admit I thought people worrying about the end of the world were slightly crazy. This book, however, paints a realistic vision of what could happen in our country as well as ways in which you could be one of the survivors. I came away with a new perspective and appreciation for what I can do to make myself better prepared for unexpected situations and emergencies. I recommend this book to everyone, but especially those who assume the government will provide food, water, shelter, and defense for everyone in the event of such a national emergency. S. Geier

Bruce, congrats on your recovery. I've crawled your website a bit and read a couple of chapters in your novel. Well done, sir! The novel reads well and the plot/story line fits today's political scene rather too close or comfort.

Just received your story from a friend and have read all the chapters. Very well written and thought out, I wish I really knew how it was going to come about the getting out timing is the most important thing. I would like to be put on your list to receive the rest of the story as you write it and I have picked up a few ideas from you already. Just starting to put things together hope I'm not to late.

Chapters 11 and 12 kept me glued to my computer last night as I read them both twice. Obviously you and Sara make a good team in this novel. I don't know what you had to rewrite in Chapter 12 but it was one of the best yet and left me with a good feeling and a sigh of relief when they made it to the retreat and how they saved Joan and Michael.

You both have a way of bringing your characters alive and making them real just like Mark and Eric.

Thank you very much for a great inspirational and instructional story that I can identify with both logically and emotionally.

Chapter 6 Comment - Another great chapter, Bruce! You are giving me a pit in my stomach. I don’t know if it’s just me still not being 100% or not. There’s always so much to do and never enough time to do it, especially right now.

Chapter 4 Comment - Bruce,
To be quite frank, your novel has slid from a thought provoking tale about the finacial insecurity of our nation and it's people to racist imagery which is exactly like that of the KKK, ie the "blacks" will rape our white women.

While I agree that crime and pack mentality could become major problems in the event our social structures are compromised, I don't think it is or should be race driven. Plenty of bad white people out there and good people regardless of their race or ethnicity.

I'll thank you to stop sending me any updates. I have read enough. Please remove me from your mailing list for this novel.

Bruce "Buckshot" Hemming's Comment - I gladly removed you from the advanced notification of chapters list. You missed the whole point of chapter 4. Racism is a manufactured belief of our society. Chapter 3 explains the Hidden Agenda of the Frankfurt School. The Marxists children and students teach these belief's all through our society. Hence all of our social unrest today. They want all ethnic groups to be separate and to hate all others. It is a part of their master plan to bring America down and swing us towards their ways and belief's. Their goal is to make America an extension of their country.

America is made up of just about every kind of ethnic group. We stopped being whatever it was from where we came from, like German or Swedish or Spanish and just became American's when we all came to America and became a citizen. That is what made us strong. We were united as a Nation. The only way to bring us down was to separate all of us into groups so we could no longer work together as a whole nation. Together we stand, divided we fall. Look around you, do you see everyone working together to unite our nation and make it a better country? No, you see special interest groups and lobbyist's that have their own interests and agendas. Everyone is backed into their own little corners. We are now a splintered society. We are falling apart just as Russia did.

Chapter 6 Comment - Hi buckshot, I dig you're book so far. it's down to earth and shows what people can be like in a situation such as this one. Still many of things but it does show how asinine people can be when serious situations confront them. Thanks for posting this.
